The 2005 field season was spent excavating outside the main gate of the Salemi castle. Here, to our suprise, we uncovered a large section of an intact Hellenistic era house floor. No where else in Salemi has the preservation of this time period been so good! Not only did we expose intact architecture, but also had a series of incredible ceramic finds as well.
