2003 Excavations in Salemi

The 2003 field season was dedicated to testing in and around the urban quarter of Salemi. We opned another excavation unit at Via Cappa Santa, and other places. Digging in an urban environment is challenging, but there is lots to explore.

We uncovered a series of house floor remnants, dating from the 4th to the 6th c. BC.
