Contrada Pitrazzi
A Late Copper Age Tomb

This Copper Age tomb was carved into sandstone, and was the resting place for at least 23 individuals. Its a secondary burial place, with most of the bones being very jumbled and mixed.

Diagnostic artifacts include hematite, steatite, and calcite beads, and diagnostic pottery dating to the Malpasa phase (circa 2100 B.C.).

Excavations will continue here in 2002.
