This whimsical balloon contraption/battlewagon was built using a champagne bottle wire top and beads. The foil and round base wire from the top was first removed. What remains is the round metal top with four twisted pieces of wire "sticking out" of it. This is to be the gondola with the supporting wires.
I then inverted it, unrapped the wire at the end and glued round beads into clusters at each of the four supporting wires. I drilled an off-center hole in the gondola for a cut off nail (used to support it of the ground). This gives it the effect of the gondola being tipped in the air. I then painted the four clusters of beads bright balloon colors (red, green, blue, and white), the guide wires like rope, and the gondola like wood. Attached two small eagles to the balloons in front, and mounted a perched owl on the goldola edge with some figures (including a gnome hanging on for dear life off the edge).
